Rüsseinaer community actively in Ethiopia
Since 1997, parishioners from the Saxon village Rüsseina (proximity Meißen) together with their priest wanted to test a small wind energy installation, that one can construct ones self. "CreaProtect", this brand name has the same aims that the development team have, in the true meaning of the words, protect creation. Through the exhibition of the installation at the German Protestant church day in Berlin 2003, contact was made with the Ethiopian engineer Wolde Georgis Demissie living in Berlin. The development team of CreaProtect consists exclusively of private people and is in principle a non- profit-orientated organisation.
The project "wind energy for Debo" still needs your financial backing
As initiative group "Selbsthilfe Äthiopien e.V." we are completely dependent on donations and Subsidies. Since the project with the installation in Debo is not complete, we request very cordially further financial backing.
Perspectives
After successful assembly of a custom made wind turbine in Debo in October 2009, the next goal is to bring the self manufacture of a standardized "Africa mill" in Addis Abeba into motion. This project should help to strengthen the workmanship in Ethiopia. Solar installations run well, however only with completely excessive importation costs. If possible, the direct drive of water pumps should also be kept in view.
